When it comes to writing your will, it can be difficult to know where to start. We have partnered with two organisations to help carers access legal advice.
Free will-writing service
Once you’ve made provision for your loved ones, leaving a gift to a charity is a wonderful way to acknowledge the positive impact of a good cause close to your heart. Remembering VOCAL in your will can make a real difference to the lives of unpaid carers in Edinburgh and Midlothian.
We offer a free will-writing service for carers together with My Intent.
The process is as follows:
- Complete an online form on the My Intent website
- Your form will be sent to a solicitor
- The solicitor will create the final document, and send it to you
- You can have a 30-minute video call with the solicitor, to discuss the details of your will

Legal surgeries
VOCAL also offers carers 30-minute appointments with local solicitors, Caesar and Howie. They can offer you legal advice on wills, trusts, Power of Attorney and guardianship.
