Every two years, VOCAL runs a survey – funded by Midlothian Health and Social Care Partnership (MHSCP) with research conducted by independent agency, Scotinform – of carers’ experience in Midlothian and their level of satisfaction with local services. Findings from the Midlothian Carers Survey 2023, with 525 respondents, show that carers are experiencing significant financial difficulties, and limited opportunities to take a break from caring.
In partnership with MHSCP, we have published the full report on the survey findings, which emphasises the need for additional support for unpaid carers. Work has already started and we look forward to continuing to work with MHSCP to implement these recommendations.
