In 2013 we wrote to 5,500 carers to ask them for their views. Some 720 carers from Edinburgh and Midlothian replied and VOCAL shared the findings with local partners to develop the Edinburgh and Midlothian Carer Strategies.

The 2015 VOCAL carer survey has now closed. We would like to thank the 900 carers who responded and made the 2015 survey the largest undertaken in the Lothians.

In response to carers’ views we increased support for carers who combine paid work and caring and now offer more support and opportunities for carers in their local area.

This year, we undertake a similar survey and have invited nearly 7,000 carers on our mailing list to share their views. It is the largest carer survey undertaken in Lothian and we hope for an even bigger return than in 2013! Our questions focus on your experiences with VOCAL but also the role of GPs, employers, health and social care services in identifying and supporting carers.

The full results and report will be available in February 2016 and will be sent to key decision makers in local and national government.

Thank you for your support!
