The SMART Centre
SMART stands for South-east Mobility and Rehabilitation Technology and operates out of the custom-built SMART Centre at Astley Ainslie Hospital. The building was opened in 2007 and houses clinical, technical, office and storage facilities for a range of rehabilitation services.
The Centre provides the following services:

The Smart Centre also houses the Lothian Disabled Living Centre. It is staffed by one full time equivalent Occupational Therapist and a part time administrator who can give advice to people who need help with daily living activities. The Occupational Therapist is able to advise and demonstrate a wide range of equipment and where possible equipment can be tried. Visits are strictly by appointment only but there is no need to be referred; anyone wishing information can contact the Centre directly on 0131 537 9190.
