Carers strategy debate in Parliament

Following the launch of Scotland’s Carers’ Manifesto on 27th October, Scotland's new carer strategy - 'Caring Together' - was debated in Scottish Parliament on Thursday 28th October.

Public Health Minister Shona Robison led a consensual debate welcoming the publication of the strategy, watch the full debate below:

Scotland's Carers Manifesto 2011 - 2015 outlines clear demands for the Scottish elections in May 2011 and presses political parties to commit to support carers.

Scotland's carers must have a right to:

  • support to assist them in their caring role
  • a regular break
  • a life outside caring
