VOCAL is the Voice Of Carers Across Lothian - an organisation run by carers for carers. A carer provides unpaid care to a family member, partner, relative or friend of any age who needs help to manage a long term condition, disability, physical or mental health problem or addiction.

VOCAL supports carers in all family or relationship settings, be they defined by kinship, partnership, friendship, affection or obligation.

VOCAL manages the Edinburgh Princess Royal Trust Carers Centre and supports carers by:

• campaigning to improve carers rights

• working in partnership with other organisations to develop the services carers need

• providing information, advice and emotional support, training, advocacy, counselling and groupwork
