Scotland's Carer Manifesto launched on Carers Rights Day 2006

Scotland's Carers Manifesto was launched at a meeting of the Coalition of Carers on December 8th 2006 - Carers Rights Day. The launch was timed to influence political parties as they draw up their election manifestos for the Scottish Parliament elections on 3rd May 2007 and this year's national spending review. The manifesto was developed by the Coalition of Carers in Scotland along with Carers Scotland, Crossroads Scotlands, The Princess Royal Trust for Carers, Shared Care Scotland and the Young Carers Alliance.

The manifesto challenges the political parties to recognise the immense contribution that carers make to society by committing to action to support carers in their role and address inequalities. A copy of the manifesto can be downloaded by clicking here. For more details on the election, who your candidates are and further campaign ideas please go to www.scotlandscarersmanifesto.com
